My tattoo on my ankle hurt

My tattoo on my ankle hurt very much. I am a big girl and I though it wouldn't be so bad. I had gotten a cool one on my arm before and it was fine. It was of an angel with his wings spread out and a glow behind him. Underneath it was a biblical scripture. When my mother died I decided to get one in her memory. I chose a teddy bear with Mommy written on the ribbon going across the bear's chest.

From the time the tattoo artist started I wanted to scream. So does it hurt to get a tattoo? Yes! It felt like the needle went straight past my skin and flesh and was digging right in to my ankle bone. That was just about the intense pain I have ever felt in my life. I had to walk home with a limp. But call me crazy, I would do it again though. I was very happy with how it looked after it was all said and done. But try to stay away from the boniest areas like your hip, ribs, toes, and ankles.
