My Favorite Summer Job

My favorite summer job.
The summer after finishing 11th grade was one of the best summers I experienced working. I had spent most of the school year, as an intern at the State of Ohio Attorney Generals office. That spring The State of Ohio decided to offer high school students an opportunity to gain work experience, and make decent money at the same time. I was one of the chosen students, and approached the job as a responsible young adult.
During the course of the summer, all of us prepared for a mock trial, that we presented on front of important public figures and judges. The Attorney General at the time was Betty Montgomery. The mock trial had news coverage, and there was pictures of me in the local newspapers along with interview questions of me. Besides the mock trial, the job was great. I was in charge of running a microfilming machine, making copies for attorneys, working a letter postage machine, running errands in between buildings and other tasks.
One of my favorite things to do as my job duty, was driving State vehicles to the car wash, and having the car was business clean them for the State. Once I remember I had the music turned up in the car, and traffic lights being so near to each other in the downtown area, I looked down for a brief second, and accidentally ran a red light. The feeling of driving the State vehicles with marked state license plates felt supreme, or does now looking back at it. The atmosphere was always friendly. The work area was away from the offices, and comfortable. The people were diverse. And the experience was good. That was my favorite summer job.
