Some good jobs for 15 year old girls, if you know how, is braiding hair. I am a teenager living in Brooklyn New York and people wear braids a lot. Men, women, girls, boys, you name it. There are people who go to the beauty parlor, or the African braid shops on 125th street, but a lot of people nowadays can't afford to pay that much.
I have been doing my own hair since I was 12. People were always giving me compliments and asking me where did I get my hair done. It wasn't until my friend offered to pay me for braiding her hair just like mine that I thought that this could be the perfect job for 15 year old girls that have the skill. If you love making people look good and feel better about themselves, this is for you.
Right now I have built up my clients to about 10 regular customers. Depending on the hairstyle, I make between $30 to $100 dollars per customer, and I see them every 2 to 3 weeks. On average I make about $150 a week, and most of that work is done on Saturdays.
Now don't be fooled, working is hard work. On Saturday nights I am usually so tired that I can't rush out and spend any of my money, and my back is hurting from standing up all day. Oh yeah, and burning the ends of the hair totally messes up your nails and fingertips. But I would rather braid hair than flip burgers at McDonald's and have somebody else bossing me around for minimum wage.
I like to look at it as my first attempt at being a self employed entrepreneur. You know, be your own boss. For everybody looking for jobs for teens, give hair braiding a try.
