Jobs at 14 Years Old

I am a teenager and I want to know what jobs can I get at fourteen. I know with a work permit they restrict some of the types of jobs you can work, but I thought I could at least get a fast food restaurant job. But every place I apply to has not called me back.

I really want to get going so I could get me a new cell phone and some clothes. My mother didn't really have a lot of money to but new ne school clothes so I am wearing a lot of my older sister's hand me downs. I hate it!

Is there some unwritten code or law that causes managers not to hire kids my age? If anybody knows of a definite place that hires teens 14 years old please let me know.
