It may sound funny, but my first dog walking job came from me walking my own puppy at the park. You talk to people in passing and let them know that you are willing to walk their dogs if they ever needed you to do so. Have some business cards printed up or even create your own flyer. You could even do that at the library for free. You could also offer dog sitting services for when people go out of town. A lot of animal lovers would rather leave their pet at a fellow animal lover's home instead of a cold shelter or kennel. You would be surprised at how well you could do. During the summer last year when everyone usually takes vacation I had to turn down some jobs because my mom wouldn't let me keep more than two dogs at the house at one time. Just be careful if you approach total strangers. There are some crazies out there.
